Your information, in plain language
The short version
We collect a little information from parents and guardians so we can tell whether enough families want this school, and keep you posted. If you’re an educator interested in working with us, we collect what you share so we can contact you about roles. We never collect children’s names or birthdates. We never sell your data. Ask us to delete it and we will.
What we collect
When you join the founding families: your name, email address, ZIP code, the grade each of your children would enter in fall 2028, and your children’s current type of schooling.
If you answer the optional survey: your phone number (optional), what draws you to the school, your reaction to planned tuition, whether the NC Opportunity Scholarship would affect your decision, your biggest hesitation, and whether you’d like to attend an info session.
If you RSVP to an event: your name, email and how many people are coming.
If you express interest in working with us: your name, email, the roles you’re interested in, your years of experience, any certifications, a link to your résumé or LinkedIn if you share one, and your answer to “Why here?”
Automatically: which link brought you to the site (for example, a flyer or a parent group), the page you first landed on, which version of our home-page headline you saw, and the time you signed up. To count visits, your browser stores a random ID on your device. We don’t use advertising cookies or third-party trackers, and we don’t record your IP address.
How we use it
- To measure interest by grade and neighborhood before we sign a lease.
- To send a confirmation, a short welcome and a monthly founder update.
- To invite you to events and give you a first look when applications open.
- For educators: to plan the founding team and contact you when roles open. We use applicant information only for hiring at the school.
Who sees it
Only the founder and, later, the school’s leadership. Your information is stored with the services that run this site: our website host and form service, and our email service. They hold it on our behalf and may not use it for anything else.
We never sell, rent or trade your information.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe with one click from any email.
- Delete your data: email us at info@applefarmschool.com and we’ll delete everything we hold about you.
- See your data: ask and we’ll send you a copy.
Children
This site is for parents, guardians and adult job seekers. We don’t knowingly collect information from children, and our forms never ask for children’s names or birthdates.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll tell founding families by email.
